The Swan Room

The light and airy Swan Room basks in the glow of the evening sunset and bows to mountain greenery to the south. A rare brass King-sized Canopy Bed (one of only 50 made) is the focal point with its companion, an ebonized Victorian Cabinet, holding court over other mahogany furnishings. A deeply comfortable loveseat and hassock and a batwing chair invite guests to view the Grand Mantel fireplace whose details match the shell-carved corner cupboard holding our swan memorabilia. The en suite bath makes this room the premier-space of the Chatelaine's offerings. A new feature is a coffee table/desk for business travelers utilizing our new High Speed Wireless Internet access, or great for wine, cheese and other snacks.

The Pink Belleek Room

The Pink Belleek Room offers dusky-rose Oriental Carpets beneath a French Bombe Secretary and an Italian Vitrine filled with blushing Irish porcelain. The King-sized headboard is white-glazed Victorian fencing, and garden Dolphins serve as bedside stands in a cloudy shell of blue. Luxurious chairs direct your gaze to the standing Birdcage encrusted with polychrome metal flowers; while the private hall bath features a Lavender Art-Glass "window," a colorful remnant from a regional gothic church.

The Sunrise-Sunset Suite

The Wilderness Room and the Dawn-Facing Room are presented as a Suite for 2 to 6 guests. They share a bath in the hallway, while each room enjoys its own personal lavatory, and both feature charming antiques from Victorian and Early Farmstead eras. Either room can be booked separately with private use of the hall bath at $125/night, $180 for Special Events.

The Dawn-Facing Room fills with the glow of morning sunlight as you greet your day with us. Black and white chintz in a stencil design dresses walls in a room filled with wicker and red and white quilts. A charming black stove called Rhapsody casts its glow to warm your heart and soul. In a corner a square Victorian Sitz Bath holds towels and accessories for the confectionery Pedestal Lavatory, while the historic hall bath awaits you just steps away. For Business Travelers, we now have High Speed Wireless Internet and a charming antique wicker desk and chair.  A Futon Chair converts to a twin bed for a 3rd person.

As green as the Spruce boughs brushing the windows, The Wilderness Room has surprises for young and older guests. The wallpaper is christened "Gobelin Forest" to match the sylvan treetop mood in which extra-long Twin beds provide comfort for up to two guests. There is a Loveseat Sofa Bed for an extra person. Twig and Deer Horn accessories are from the signed and dated collection of a regional artisan. Rawhide Swags crowned with Caribou Racks frame the two twilight-facing windows, and ceramic stumps form the bases of glass-topped tables. The Hall Bath features a shower with a tile mosaic of our venerable Split-Pine.

All Guest Rooms have air-conditioning and alarm clocks. Historic Hall Baths provide Robes for guests. The third floor rooms have Television sets, and Telephones are provided in each hallway. Ice, glasses and sodas are outside each room, while Decanters of Cordials are near each bedside.
